Our Story

"For over a decade, we've refined and developed our PFR technology to make biomethane production more efficient, scalable, and reliable. By focusing on innovation and long-term performance, we're ensuring renewable gas becomes a cornerstone of the global energy transition."

Philip Greenaway - CTO, GMT

GMT has been developing its innovative and proprietary biomethane technology to support the transition to cleaner energy.

After years of working with traditional anaerobic digestion systems, we made the strategic decision in 2011 to focus entirely on Plug Flow Reactor (PFR) technology—a more efficient approach to producing biomethane.

Since then, GMT’s Team has designed and built over 40 biomethane plants, from small-scale energy projects to large gas-to-grid facilities. Our technology’s adaptability allow us to scale seamlessly, making it a proven solution for projects of any size.

PFR technology has long been recognised as the superior anaerobic digestion system in the USA where it dominated the market due to its higher biomethane yields and proven operational longevity. GMT has lead the development across Europe, setting a new standard for maximising biomethane output, optimising waste-to-energy processes, and driving the clean energy transition.

At GMT, we remain committed to expanding this technology, ensuring that biomethane plays a major role in the future of sustainable energy worldwide.
